By Paul Nyathi| National People’s Party leader Joice Mujuru has rubbished social media news that she got married at a private wedding on Saturday.

In a statement presented to media by the NPP Secretary General Gift Nyandoro, Mujuru denies having tired the knot with a man referred to as Tobias Machewa in the social media circles.

“National People’s Party dismisses the mischievious social media post which suggests that Dr JTR Mujuru tied the knot as an act of misguided thinking and a deliberate ploy to create ill conceived controversy around the good standing of her name,” said Nyandoro.

“Clearly the person who made the posting is simply abusing the similarity of looks of Mother Zimbabwe to that of the lady depicted therein.

“Dr JTR Mujuru did not tie the knot with anyone and she is not associated with the couple appearing in the post in anyway.”

The news of late Army General Solomon Mujuru’s widow remarrying came after a photograph of a couple getting married featured a lady with typical Mujuru resemblances.
