Harare – Zimbabwe’s contemporary singer Jah Prayzah was scheduled to launch his new album “Kutonga Kwaro” on Friday at the Harare International Conference Centre alongside Nigeria’s Davido.

But the question many of his fans have been asking is can the lanky singer spring another surprise and break his own record with  “Mudhara Achauya” that featured the Tanzanian star Diamond Platinumz?

His previous album hit the one million views on YouTube within two weeks of its release.

And now “Kutonga Kwaro” which features Davido currently doing the rounds with “Fall”, appears to be lukewarm, despite so much hype surrounding the launch of album.

Of course, that would not be without reason after social media users mischievously added garwe (crocodile) to the title of the album in reference to Zimbabwe’s Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa who is often referred to by the same name.

However, in response to the mischief, Jah Prayzah via his Facebook account distanced himself from the memes saying he was not responsible for the wrong title.

This was not the first time that Jah Prayzah’s music has been misinterpreted by fans.

Some social media users suggested that “Mudhara Achauya” was in reference to the succession politics in Zimbabwe.Jah Prayzah also denied being aligned to any faction saying he was only a musician.

Politics aside, Jah Prayzah and his Third Generation band continue to put Zimbabwe on the music map in the region and abroad.

It therefore remains to be seen whether or not “Kutonga Kwaro” will surpass the record set by the previous album.
