Animal killer Scott van Zyl dies after being eaten by crocodiles in Zimbabwe
Scott van Zyl, who has been pictured with big cats, elephant and lions he had mercilessly slaughtered, was last seen heading in the direction of the banks of the Limpopo River.
He had been on a trip with a pack of dogs and a Zimbabwean tracker, who had taken a different route.
Suspicions were raised when the dogs returned to the camp without Mr van Zyl.
A search party was scrambled and the hunter’s belongings were found in the back of the vehicle he had been driving.
The hunter boasted about killing elephants
Footprints were seen on the bank of the river, but there as no sign of Mr van Zyl, whose bag was discovered strewn on the sand near the water.
But the mystery of Mr van Zyl’s whereabouts appears to have been solved after two crocodiles were discovered to have human remains inside their stomachs.
Mr van Zyl’s remains were found inside Nile crocodiles
Sakkie Louwrens, a member of one of the search teams, said: “We found what could possibly be human remains in (the crocodiles).”
The animal killer owned SS Pro Safaris, the website of which brags about killing everything from “elephants in Botswana to the smallest blue duiker in KwaZulu Natal”.

Mr van Zyl’s death is not the first major incident to occur on the banks of the Limpopo River – last year a 13-year-old boy was killed while fishing.
